Our family-friendly beer hall is a cheerful social space to gather with friends and neighbors in celebration of the simple things in life.  We offer up to 12 rotating beers on tap, many of which are available to take home from our company store in growlers or bottles.  We also offer delicious pretzels made by our friends at Whole G bakery to ensure you don’t go hungry during your visit.  While you’re here, we encourage you to take a guided tour of the brewery to learn about the time-honored methods we use to make our beer.

How can I buy a giftcard?

Do you only serve beer?

No, in addition to our 12+ East Rock beers, we also serve a limited selection of wine and canned Downeast Craft Cider.

Do you offer curbside pickup?

Absolutely! You can place your curbside pickup order by clicking the link below. Curbside pickup is ideal for customers who prefer enjoying their beer at home. All you have to do is place your order online and call us at (475)234-6176 ext. 1 when you arrive, so we can drop off your beer on the pickup table. Prost!

Can I reserve a table for my party?

Due to COVID-19, the beer hall is operating on a first-come-first-serve basis. Reservations are not accepted at this time.

Where can I park?

We have a variety of parking to offer our visitors.  On the opposite side of the street there is a 45-car parking lot that is free and open to patrons of the brewery.  We have a 98 car parking garage with direct access to the beer hall underneath our building that is available to the public for a nominal fee. The elevator and stairs will lead directly up to the building lobby. The address to the garage is 50 Mitchell Dr., and the entrance is located in the back of the building across from the athletic fields.  There is a parking lot adjacent to the tennis courts at the intersection of Nicoll Street and Mitchell Drive, which is only a 2-minute walk to the brewery.  There is public parking on Nicoll Street and several side streets in the area.

How does your beer hall work?

Due to COVID-19, we are operating on a first-come-first-serve basis. Our service style is completely contactless at the moment, allowing servers to keep a safe distance between customers at all times. Orders must be placed online through our online ordering system – link and QR codes will be available at your table!

What is the best way to get to the brewery?

Driving? Take I-91 to Exit 6, right on Willow Street, right on Nicoll Street.  Yale Student? Take the Yale Shuttle Orange Route to the corner of Foster and Willow Street. The brewery is just a 3-minute walk away.  Metro North? The brewery is a <10-minute cab ride from Union Station or the State Street Station.

Is the beer hall family friendly?

Yes, visitors who are under 21 are permitted if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. While visiting, children must be supervised by their parent or legal guardian at all times. In addition to our beer, we offer some non-alcoholic beverages including locally produced bottled sodas.  We also offer high chairs for your little ones.

How can I host an event at the beer hall?

Once our COVID-19 policies can be safely lifted, our beer hall has seating for approximately 100 people and standing room for an additional 150.  Our entire space can be rented for private functions on Mondays or before we open on Tuesday through Sunday.  Don’t need that much room?  We also have a semi-private space that nicely accommodates parties of 25-75+ people.  For details please call 475-234-6176 ext. 2 or email

Do you allow dogs or other pets?

Pets are welcome outdoors on our patio as long as they are supervised by their human!

How much beer can I buy on my visit?

In accordance with Connecticut law, we are permitted to sell up to nine liters of beer per person, per day (304oz.).  This roughly translates to [25] 12 oz. bottles, [18] 500 ml. bottles or [4] 64 oz. growlers and [1] 32 oz. growler.

Do you have a kitchen on site?

We do not have a full-service kitchen on site but we do offer fresh baked pretzels and occasionally host food trucks for special events.  You are welcome to bring your own food or order takeout from one of the many celebrated restaurants in the area.

Do you sell non-alcoholic beverages?

We have a variety of non-alcoholic refreshments including water and soda from Foxon Park, a New Haven favorite.

Can I purchase a keg of beer from you?

In accordance with Connecticut law, we do not sell kegs directly to consumers.   We recommend reaching out to your local package store to inquire about ordering a keg of our beer.  Also, your party sounds like a fun time; how do we get an invite?

Do you fill growlers that were not originally purchased at East Rock?

No, we do not fill growlers that have been purchased from another brewery.  We take great pride in producing our beer and this extends to packaging where we clean and sanitize every growler before it is filled.  Since our operations do not permit us to clean/sanitize growlers on demand, we are not able to fill growlers that have been purchased from anywhere other than East Rock.

What’s your return policy?

Our return policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, refunds and exchanges will not be able to be processed. 

In order to return your order, please email us at Any returns must be sent to: East Rock Brewing Company, 285 Nicoll St, New Haven CT 06511. Along with your returned item, please include a copy of your packing slip inside the parcel. If you don’t have your packing slip, please include your name and cell phone number should we need to contact you.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, the tag must still be on the item, and the item must be in the same condition that you received it.


How long will it take to get my refund credited back to my card?

Once your return is received, you can expect an email notifying you that your order has been inspected. Along with that, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Should the item be approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will be applied to your credit card/payment method, within 5-7 business days.
