Old Leatherman Beer Release
January 18 @ 12:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Join us Friday, January 18th for the release of Old Leatherman! Brewed for the wanderlust in all of us, this full-bodied black lager is named for the mysterious vagabond famous for his handmade leather clothes and walking circuit along the Connecticut River.
From 1857 to 1889, this mysterious wanderer known only as “The Leatherman” completed a 365-mile loop from the Connecticut River to the Hudson River Vally roughly once every 35 days. He survived by living off the land and sleeping in caves and abandoned structures. He gained fame in the region due to his unusual looking 60lb hand made leather suit, and because of his punctuality. Some said that if you saw the Leatherman passing by you could count 35 days to the hour and expect to see him walking by once again.
We are thrilled to be joined by local artist Susan McCaslin of Design Monsters, who will be displaying select pieces of her artwork based on the Old Leatherman.
We also are happy to have The Caseus Cheese Truck at the brewery, serving up delicious grilled cheese, soup and much more.
Join us on January 18th for a glass of Old Leatherman! Enjoy it now or lay it down in a cave for a year or two and hope Old Leatherman doesn’t get to it first!
